Tour Adventure in Holbox Island
Holbox is a refugee for people that want to get away from it all. The island is about 30km long and form 500m to 2km wide. Located north of the yucatan península and 2 hours away of Playa del Carmen, Holbox is part of the natural Yum Balam reserve.
The island is home to more than 150 bird species including flamingos, pelicans, yuacatn flycatcher, black hawk Eagle. Enjoy secluded beaches and relax fully on Holbox, where vehicles are not allowed and fresh lobster is rife.
During the summertime, whalesharks congregate relativly nearby in large quantities. The water is not the blue turquoise you see at Riviera Maya due to the fact that the waters of the Gulf of Mexico and the caribbean meet.
Upon arriving at the beautiful port of Chiquila ( 2 hrs from playa del Carmen) we board the boat and start our ride through the small Islands that surround Holbox. We make a stop at Yalahau cenote where yo can swim and relax, we also make a stop in Isla Pajaros wich is a small mangrove & cactus covered islet located in the Yalahau lagoon, it is the home to a great diversity of bird species, some which are endangered.
Once we are done with the swiming we head toward holbox for lunch at a restaurant on the beach, followed by 2 hours of free time, this is your time to go out and explore the beauty of holbox.
